Smoke Hunter 2.0, 3.0 & 4.0 — Official Maintenance & Troubleshooting Manual

Smoke Hunter 2.0, 3.0 & 4.0 — Official Maintenance & Troubleshooting Manual

Official Maintenance & Troubleshooting Manual

Thank you for choosing the Smoke Hunter series. The 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 versions all feature our newly upgraded exterior shell with a fully compatible, detachable, and replaceable filter cartridge system. Since the cartridge is fully universal across the 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 series, they follow the exact same care and troubleshooting procedures. To ensure you achieve the best performance and maximum product lifespan, please read the following official maintenance guidelines carefully.

1. First-Time Use & Smoke Leakage Troubleshooting

If you notice smoke leaking from the bottom air outlet during your very first use, please perform the following two-step troubleshooting process:

  • STEP ONE: Twist open the exterior shell lid. Then, firmly tighten the internal filter cartridge onto the lid and try again.
*Crucial Note:* Do NOT touch or press the black HEPA paper section. Simply hold the textured plastic housing at the top of the filter cartridge, and tighten it by turning it in the direction of the "CLOSE" arrow marked on the cartridge.
  • STEP TWO: Exhale smoke into the device to check if the leakage has stopped.

🔍 Root Cause Analysis & Our Warranty Promise

Generally, bottom leakage is only caused by two potential issues: either a defect within the filter cartridge itself, or the threads between the filter cartridge and the lid were not screwed completely tight. It has absolutely nothing to do with the exterior shell.

Action Required if Leakage Persists: If the device still leaks smoke after you have fully tightened the internal cartridge, please stop using it immediately.
Our Warranty Promise: If a genuine defect is confirmed on your very first use, we will ship you a BRAND-NEW COMPLETE PRODUCT for FREE, rather than just sending individual loose replacement parts!

2. Routine Maintenance: Extending Filter Lifespan & Core Alternation

After a period of routine use (typically after 10+ sessions), the internal sponge column will absorb a large amount of moisture and heavy tobacco oily grease. To extend the lifespan of your filter, please follow this care routine:

  1. Disassemble: Twist open the exterior shell, then unscrew the filter cartridge from the lid.
  2. Remove & Clean the Sponge: Pull out the internal sponge column from the cartridge. Wash the sponge thoroughly with water and let it sun-dry or air-dry completely.
  3. Dry the Filter Cartridge: While the sponge is drying, take this opportunity to dry the damp filter cartridge by letting it sun-dry naturally or by using a hair dryer on a cool/warm setting.
  4. The Alternation Secret: We highly recommend purchasing and keeping multiple filter cartridges on hand. Replacing the wet core with a fresh, dry filter cartridge allows you to use them alternately, which will drastically extend the overall service life of each filter!
🚨 Handling Warning: During this maintenance process, please protect the black paper HEPA filter section and do NOT apply force or touch it roughly. Once the delicate HEPA paper filter is punctured or damaged, it will cause immediate smoke leakage!

3. Cleaning Frequency & Safety Warnings

  • Frequency: The frequency of cleaning the sponge column depends entirely on your usage intensity and personal habits, which vary from person to person.
  • ⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: ONLY the sponge column is washable. The internal filter cartridge body and the black HEPA paper core CANNOT be washed, soaked, or exposed to water under any circumstances! Washing the filter core directly will permanently ruin the physical structures of the HEPA material, causing complete failure.

4. Quick-Reference Troubleshooting Table

Issue Condition Official Solution
Base Leakage Discovered on your very first use. Discontinue use immediately. Contact customer support for a FREE brand-new complete product replacement. (Leakage is typically caused by an internal cartridge issue or loose threads, not the shell).
Cartridge Thread Loose Smoke escapes from the bottom air outlet during normal use. Twist open the shell lid. Hold the textured plastic upper housing of the filter and tighten it firmly clockwise following the "CLOSE" arrow. Do NOT touch the black HEPA part.
Clogging / High Resistance Airflow feels tight or restricted after multiple sessions. Unscrew the cartridge, remove the internal sponge column, and let the damp cartridge dry out thoroughly under the sun or with a hair dryer.
Wet or Oily Sponge Accumulates moisture and tobacco grease after around 10 uses. Pull out the internal sponge column to wash and dry it freely. It is highly recommended to substitute a fresh, dry backup cartridge to alternate use during this process.
