Smoke Hunter 4.0 Personal Smoke Filter (Sploof) with Replaceable Cartridge

This personal smoke filter has been a game-changer in our house. I smoke, my husband doesn’t, and we both really appreciate having something that keeps the peace without turning my habits into his problem.It works perfectly, and it genuinely cuts down the smoke and odor before it spreads around the room. The design feels solid, and the seal seems tight, so it actually filters instead of letting air leak out the sides. I also like how discreet it is; it doesn’t scream “smoke device,” it just blends in.Overall, it's the perfect size, handy and portable, and super easy to use. Good value, as well. ,Recommend!

A little bigger than a smoke buddy, but easily portable, simple to use. Looks nice. Seems to work well, have not noticed any leakage. I’d say this is a good value purchase, I really like that the filters are interchangeable.

This is great even for someone that doesn’t smoke but still respects the needs of others. I do not allow others to smoke or vape in my vehicle, but this allows the ones that vape to do so without causing hard feelings. If they smoke, we take their vehicle. This is also effective to prevent the smoke smells from ruining the new car smell especially when a significant other threatens divorce if they smoke in their new car. The Smoke Hunter 4.0 is small enough to be able to store it when not in use. Having the ability to easily disassemble and clean, or replace, the filter elements is a plus.

I have used seemingly every Sploofy like brand under the sun, and I'm sorry to have to say that I found nearly all of them mediocre. (Smoke Trap & Plus, Sploofy & Pro 2, VonSploof, Smoke Buddy, Smoke Hunter 1-4, Philter.)The only ones worth it for the longest time was the Smoke Trap +, and the Philter for niche moments where you needed to be discreet. As you can see from the photos, the Hunter 4 is thinner but a little taller than the ST+. The Hunter 4 also has a slightly bigger mouth piece. By the way, I love that style of mouth piece solo much, the Sploofy Pro 2 style mouth piece...or lack there of, ruined it for me.I also love the lack of any logos on the Hunter 4. Innocent, and/or naive people would probably think it's a very small canteen and not give it a second thought. Compare this to the Trap Plus which prominently days SMOKE TRAP+ 😂. There IS a logo on the cap of the Hunter 4, but you can remove it. Speaking of which, if you wanted an all black one, you could order the grey version which has a black cap, and swap them.The one problem I have, is that I'm unable to find information on how long the filters last on the Hunter 4. Meanwhile, The Smoke Trap Plus has one of the longest lasting filters. This is the deciding factor for me. They are both VERY close in quality, but I personally think the Hunter 4 is SLIGHTLY better in every way than the Trap Plus.The deciding factor is the filter longevity. A 3 pack of Hunter filters are cheaper than a 3 pack of Trap Plus filters, which leads me to believe that they don't last as long. But unless it's a HUGE difference, I would put this as my new number one! The Hunter 4 and the Smoke Trap + are the only ones worth getting overall, and both are fantastic! Oh, and the tiny Philter for special events 😂.

I was impressed with the first use. We are heavy smokers and used other brands and always had some smoke leakage or would clog easily, wouldn’t get a lot of use out of it. Not being able to replace the filter and being a single use isn’t very cost effective for us. This newest version is great. Highly recommended.

I love it! So much better than the Buddies I've been using. After over a month it still works like a charm. I haven't had to clean it yet but I might do so for regular maintenance.

Totally new filter design. I love it! You open it up every night and let it dry out. Much easier to maintain and longer lasting than any of the other products out there, including the first three incarnations of the Smoke Hunter. If you take care of any of them, they will last longer. This one is easy to take care of. I also LOVE how they replaced the circular piece of fabric or whatever to catch the resin with a piece of foam. Easily cleaned or replaced. I also like the cap. A very effective smoke diffuser. Well done!!!!

This device works really well for reducing exhaled smoke smell. I want to be clear upfront though—this won't do anything about the smell when you're actually lighting whatever you're smoking. That's still going to produce odor. But once you're exhaling into this, it captures probably 90% of what would normally fill up the room.I've used this with cigars, cigarettes, and vape products, and it handles all of them effectively.The replaceable cartridge is hands down the best feature compared to other brands I've tried. I actually own two older versions of this same brand, and they keep improving the cartridge design with each new model. The 4.0 cartridge is so much simpler than the earlier ones—fewer pieces that can get stuck or break off. My old versions had multiple parts you had to screw together, and they'd eventually strip out or cross-thread. This new one just slides in and works.They added a cover for the opening on this 4.0 version. I can see some people liking that feature, but honestly I don't think I'll use it much. I always blow more air through this than I probably need to, just to make absolutely sure nothing's sitting in there waiting to escape later. The cover doesn't really change that approach for me.You're not going to be completely odor-free with this device. You'll still have smoke smell on your breath and clothes, and if you're using it in a tiny enclosed space, some ambient smell will build up regardless. But for what it's designed to do—capturing exhaled smoke—it's really effective.I tried other brands for years and switched to this one a few months back. Haven't used the old ones since. This is just better designed and more durable. Really glad I added this 4.0 to my collection.Highly Recommended

Based on use, it feels like the airflow is being directed more efficiently through the filtration core rather than fighting against it. That lines up with the “zero bypass” claim—everything appears to be routed through the filter rather than leaking around it. The result is more consistent performance without needing to overcompensate with extra effort.Compatibility is another plus. If you already have a 2.0 or 3.0 unit, being able to drop in the upgraded 4.0 cartridge without replacing everything is convenient and cost-effective. It makes the upgrade feel more like a true evolution rather than a forced replacement cycle.Overall, this version improves where it actually matters: ease of use, airflow efficiency, and maintaining discretion. It still requires some pressure—there’s no getting around physics when you’re pushing air through filtration media—but it’s much more manageable now. If you’ve used earlier versions, this is a noticeable step forward. If you’re new to it, this feels like a more polished starting point.
